Nurses deserve better

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, EARN Cares Founder Ryan Smeets began to explore how broken hiring had become. The entire pre-employment process was a disaster for employers and candidates. When mismanaged government policies left tens of millions of Americans unemployed Ryan felt compelled to take action and launched EARN Cares for the healthcare industry with a singular focus on helping nurses. Ryan noticed the many ways that nurses were sacrificing, from obtaining their own PPE to furloughs and layoffs, he then decided it was time for a change.

After countless virtual interviews with nurses - EARN Cares was born.

While some nurses are able to find opportunities quickly, the vast majority of our conversations involved stories of extreme frustration and uncertainty. We believed that if we applied our curiosity to solving the right problem, the answers would show themselves. The first answer became a foundational belief at EARN Cares- only nurses know nurses.

Immediately, EARN Cares set out to create a team of active nurses that could evaluate other nurses and help build real solutions. The “EARN Evaluation” and “EARN Report” are our side-by-side tools for nurses and healthcare providers. These processes allow us to precisely match excellent nurses with positions that fit them across a range of needs, desires, and experiences. In turn, this match speeds up the process, increases satisfaction, and improves employers' retention. Few things in life are ever “win-win” but we can do precisely that for nurses and the organizations that rely on them.
